In the frigid peaks of Newlake’s mountains, the dragon-like, horned cats of Ardent Crest have carved out their fiery kingdom. Renowned for their scorching tempers and even more potent fire magic, these cats are celebrated as courageous, resilient, and deeply emotional. No matter the odds, they never shy away from a fight.
The kingdom’s core philosophy is rooted in the belief that emotions must be embraced and expressed freely, or else they may burn out of control like an untended blaze. This ideology has molded a society that mirrors the nature of fire—warm, vibrant, and passionately expressive. While the cats of Ardent Crest share strong bonds of camaraderie, conflicts and heated arguments are just as abundant, seen as a vital part of their emotional lives.
These firey-hearted (literally) cats possess powerful elemental magic, channeling flames and heat through their casting, paws, and mouths. Their mutations are reminscent of mythical dragons, and most boast keratin horns, and scales.
Though often viewed as unpredictable and chaotic, prone to impulsive actions and outbursts, Ardent Crest cats take pride in their untamed, authentic selves. While they may be stereotyped as hot-headed and rebellious, they are also admired for their raw strength, fiery spirit, and unbreakable will.

Ardent Crest was originally a hereditary monarchy, but with the introduction to New Lake and differing opinions, they became elective.
Both hereditary and elective constitutional monarchy, where new leaders are able to be voted out of crown OR give up the crown, and replaced with a democratically decided candidate. However, the current family of leaders have been royal for many generations.
Leadership
Ardent Crest is unique in the fact that only leaders have a rank title. All leaders have the title Irn, a gender neutral title based around an old pronunciation of the word "inferno".
Only the Irn holds power, but may bestow some power to their consort.
Regents
Regents act as the Irn's replacement when they are unable to perform their duties. This can range from being sick, incapacitated, or being under the age to rule.
Council
Ardent Crest's government is ran by a few special circles of people, including military leaders (Secretaries of Army and Defense, Generals), the House Historian, Head Seers and Alchemists, and the Representative of Agriculture.
